Rogers BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 Smartphone now official. RIM and Rogers are launching the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 smartphone, the first BlackBerry phone to come in the popular flip form factor. The BlackBerry Pearl Flip will be available in a stylish black finish from Rogers Wireless starting November 4, with the stunning pink BlackBerry Pearl Flip coming soon.
The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 smartphone will be available in black from Rogers starting November 4, from $49.99 with activation on any combination of 3 year voice and data plan with minimum combined monthly service fee of $35 per month from Rogers. Some conditions apply. The pink BlackBerry Pearl Flip will be available in the coming weeks.

Windows Mobile 6.1 Firmware Update for Rogers Samsung Jack i616. A new WinMo 6.1 OS firmware upgrade for Samsung SGH-i616 on Rogers has been released. The new firmware brings some improvements including instant messaging-like texting, improved Internet browsing, simpler e-mail and Bluetooth setup. There are also new Home screen interface, new Getting Started Center, security enhancements, easier Wi-Fi connection, and more personal choice.

A new cell phone ahs been launched by Rogers Wireless in Canada, that’s “certified to military standard 810 F for dust, drops, vibration, temperature extremes, and humidity”. Motorola Extreme has a 2.2″ display, 2 megapixel camera with 8x zoom, holds up to 4GB optional removable memory, Internet browser and high speed 3G downloading capabilities.
Black LG Shine TU720 for Rogers Wireless. Rogers Wireless adds the LG Shine slider in new color - black. The specification remain the same as the previous device in grey and in pink, it also comes with a 2 megapixel camera, QVGA screen, music player, Bluetooth support, microSD memory card slot. It is compatible with Rogers Vision plan.
Novatel Ovation MC950D HSPA USB modem for Fido Canada. Fido adds the HSPA-enabled Ovation MC950D USB modem to its offering. This modem comes with quad-band EDGE support, it should enable downlink speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps and uplink speeds up to 2.1 Mbps. No word on pricing nor availability, but Rogers Wireless is selling the USB modem for $49 with a contract.
