Samsung TouchWiz Video. Samsung was showing off two new finger-touch phones at MWC this year: the F480 and F490. The new F480 and F490 run “TouchWiz”, which you could think of as Croix 2.0. Samsung told us that TouchWiz will replace Croix on all new Samsung finger-touch phones. In fact, the F490 was originally slated to run Croix - and that’s what was on display in the booth - but it was recently decided to upgrade the UI to TouchWiz instead of Croix on the final shipping version.

Samsung SGH-F490 Touch-Screen Video

Samsung SGH-F490 Touch-Screen VideoSamsung SGH-F490 Video. This is follow up from last post, Samsung SGH-F490 Touch-Screen Launched. If you like the Croix interface, you’ll like the Samsung F490. The unique thing about this handset is that it pairs the Croix interface with a touch-sensitive display with haptic-feedback. Actually, like all Samsung handsets with vibration-feedback, the F490 uses a pseudo-haptic feedback system. The entire device vibrates to indicate a button/keypress, rather than localizing the vibration/haptic feedback to the specific area of input. It’s not real haptic feedback, but it’s a start.
