Virgin Connect - WiMAX Network in Russia. Richard Branson’s Virgin Group announced a WiMAX network called Virgin Connect in Russia which covers 20 cities in Russia. The network is launched through an agreement with Swiss based telecoms investors, Trivon. Trivon launched its network in 32 Russian regions including Moscow, St. Petersburg and the 20 largest cities where it holds the required licenses and frequencies for WiMAX-based services. Nokia 6124 to support NTT DoCoMo’s i-mode. Nokia in cooperation with Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) will launch a customized handset, the 6124 classic. Nokia 6124 Classic will be coming to Taiwan market with support for i-mode. The Nokia classic i-mode, which supports 3.5G HSDPA technology, will be Nokia’s first customized handset that supports NTT DoCoMO’s i-mode value-added services, said CK Cherng, general manager, Nokia Taiwan.
