Verizon Samsung U440 Cleo on FCC. Following the previous report about Samsung CLEO for Bell Canada in November, Samsung U440 aka Cleo has been spotted on FCC. Verizon Samsung U440 Cleo comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera, full QWERTY keyboard hidden under the flip, stereo Bluetooth support (A2DP), threaded SMS app, music player and a memory card slot.

Upcoming Samsung phones for the US leaked. Samsung’s US lineup leaked, First we have Alltel SCH-R600 Hue II, and the AT&T slider SGH-A777. Alltel SCH-R600 Hue II has removable covers and a 2-megapixel camera. As for A777, it is a mid-level phone with plenty of color options and a 1.3-megapixel camera. Then, Samsung Eternity A867 (now up to a 5 megapixel camera, not 3MP as previously reported), followed by Verizon’s Saga I770, OMNIA I910 and the Renown U810 clamshell. We already know that the Saga and Omnia has WinMo 6.1 OS. Saga and Renown are global phones, supporting both CDMA and GSM.

Verizon Palm Centro gets minor update. Palm updates Verizon Palm Centro with a software update that brings with it a minor tune-up that may improve device usability in certain situations.

Verizon Samsung u940 Glyde problems? According to Engadget, Verizon halts the Samsung Glyde sales due to ‘an issue’, This information was received in a Verizon customer service call center. It’s not clear when (or if) corporate and third-party stores will receive the same story. Or maybe there will be a software update for this device in the near future? Stay tuned.

Verizon LG VX5500 coming soon. A new low-end clamshell will be added to Verizon’s portfolio later this month, it’s the LG VX5500. The mobile phone comes with a Bluetooth support, two color screens (internal and external), VGA camera, mobile web 2.0. Unfortunately, there’s no microSD memory card slot. The VX5500 will sell for $49.99 after a $50 rebate with a 2-year contract.

BlackBerry Storm 9530 for Verizon delayed 3-4 weeks. Following the previous rumor about BlackBerry 9530 Thunder for Verizon on October 13?, According to Boy Genius, BlackBerry Storm just went into technical acceptance at Verizon which usually takes around 3-4 weeks, and Verizon reportedly still has to work out the sluggish bugs and polish the UI up a bit before releasing it to the general public, so the BlackBerry Storm has been delayed 3-4 weeks. That puts us around a mid-November launch on Verizon.

Verizon Palm Treo 700p ROM update. A new ROM update has been pushed out by Palm for its Verizon Palm Treo 700p, it’s version 1.11. This is a radio ROM update to fix a phone reset issue that occurs under certain specific and rare conditions. The Palm Treo 700p’s v1.11 ROM can only be applied to handsets that are already running the v1.10 ROM. In case your Palm smartphone is still sporting v1.06 ROM. You have to upgrade to 1.10 ROM before applying this new v1.11 ROM update.
