Samsung SPH-W6050 announced in KoreaSamsung SPH-W6050 announced in Korea. A new 5 megapixel camera-equipped phone has been announced by Samsung in Korea, it’s Samsung SPH-W6050. This mobile phone comes with a 3-inch WVGA haptic feedback-enabled touchscreen display, HSPA support, a DMB TV tuner on-board, a microSD memory expansion slot, DMB tuner, and more. Unfortunately, it lacks WiFi.

Samsung SPH-W6050 is available for around $600 only in Korea, No word on whether it will be available in the US.

Nokia E63 officially announcedNokia E63 officially announced. Following the recent Nokia E63 appeared at the Symbian Smartphone Show, the Nokia Eseries smartphone has finally been announced by Nokia. The Nokia E63 is the cheaper and low-end version of the more elegant Nokia E71. Both are significantly more compact than Nokia E61i.

Nokia E63 vs E71 Specifications:
+ Instead of the E71’s stainless steel casing, Nokia E63 is now more plasticy.
+ Nokia E63 has an improved QWERTY keyboard — “CTRL and “CHR” now have separate keys and so do “@” and “/”.
+ Nokia E63 is slightly thicker than the E71, measuring 113×59×13 mm/126g as opposed to the E71’s 114×57×10 mm/127g.
+ If Nokia E71 has a 2.5mm jack, the E63 has now a “more regular” 3.5mm audio jack.
+ Unlike the popular Nokia E71, Nokia E63 lacks GPS.
+ Nokia E63 has 2 megapixel camera as opposed to Nokia E71’s 3.2 megapixels camera.

iRiver Wave for Korea in March 2009iRiver Wave for Korea in March 2009. After the previous report about iRiver prepares GSM Linux-based Phone back at CES in January 2008. A new report says that iRiver’s wave touchphone will hit Korea on March 9th from Korean carrier KT.

iRiver Wave comes with a large 480×272″ pixels touchscreen, WiFi, FM radio, 4GB of internal memory that is further expandable with memory cards, embedded access to Bugs Music Service. There are also pre-installed apps such as media player, ebook reader, electronic dictionary. Handwriting recognition and multiple dictionaries are also included.

This could be sad news for Nokia fans in China, a new report says that Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will come without 3G and WiFi support. It’s still reasonable that the lack of 3G radio because of Chinese TD-SCDMA standard, but disabling WiFi on every new phone may not make sense for high-end users. Yeah, All China’s regular internet traffic is filtered anyway, so regulators either have a crucial misunderstanding of what Wi-Fi is?!

BBC iPlayer for Symbian S60BBC iPlayer for Symbian S60. BBC iPlayer for S60 has been released. iPlayer will only work in the UK. You can stream shows over WiFi or over a strong 3G connection. You’ll need to have a web runtime enabled handset to use the BBC iPlayer. It apparently works well on Nokia N78, N95, N96 and E90.

We’ve recently just heard a new rumor that a new BlackBerry for Nextel’s iDEN network is reportedly being prepared by Research In Motion. If that’s true, we can expect the WiFi-enabled BlackBerry Curve 8350 for Nextel by the end of the year 2008, or probably in early 2009. Although this mobile phone is not so great as Blackberry Bold or BlackBerry Thunder, this would be an awesome phone if they did that for some people, they may be already waiting for this Curve to be available for iDEN network users. The spec is similar, only adding WiFi connectivity to the mix. Unfortunately, the 8820 model has no camera, but it seems it’s for security reason in many enterprise. Rogers BlackBerry 8820 is already available for CA$349 on a three-year contract, CA$499 for 2-year, and CA$549 for a single year contract.
