HTC New Mobile Internet Device (MID). Market sources in Taiwan indicated that HTC is developing new MID (Mobile Internet Device) products, using Intel's Atom and Qualcomm's Snapdragon chipset platforms. New devices are likely to be unveiled in the second half of 2008.

According to HTC's President and CEO, Peter Chou, they will continue to focus on "Internet experience through mobile devices" but will also adjust its deployment of UMPC products (HTC Shift). The reason for the change in their UMPC strategy is the rise of small and affordable laptop computers like the Asus eeePC, which people buy more.
