Motorola XOOM 2 and Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablets. Motorola Mobility has introduced two new Android-based tablets in Germany. They're Motorola XOOM 2 and Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition. Moto XOOM 2 tablet has special features: Splash-guard and special flattened edges for easier holding, while the Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition offers display optimization for wide viewing angles that are perfect for video.

Both tablets feature Android 3.2, a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, brilliant displays with Corning Gorilla Glass and a splashguard coating for a go anywhere, do everything attitude. In addition, both tablets include the new MotoCast app that lets you stream all your music, photos, videos and documents between your PC or Mac and tablet without any media tools, apps, or cords. The two new tablets also feature 3G and Wi-Fi capabilities and are expected to be available in February 2012.

Motorola XOOM 2 boasts a 10.1-inch widescreen HD display and Android 3.2 Honeycomb like its predecessor - the original Motorola Xoom tablet - but the similarities end there. The display is brighter and more vibrant than before with color enhancement, and the edges have been strategically designed to make the tablet more comfortable to hold -- this Android tablet is easy on the eyes, and easy on the hands.

Motorola XOOM 2 is also loaded with Business Ready features like Virtual Private Network (VPN) support and data encryption. It also comes with MOTOPRINT integrated into key apps so you can print wirelessly from your tablet.

Motorola Xoom 2 tablet boasts a 1.3 MP front and 5 MP rear-facing HD cameras with digital zoom, auto focus, and LED flash. It has 1GB RAM with 16GB & 32GB storage. There's also 3D virtual surround sound. As for the size, it measures 253.9 mm x 173.6 mm x 8.8 mm and has a weight of 599 grams. Its battery provides enough juice for 10+ hours Web usage or over 1 month stand-by.

The Media Edition of the Motorola XOOM 2 comes with a 8.2-inch display, make it easy to be taken wherever we go, weighing only 386 g. Optimized for entertainment, it has a wide, 178 degree viewing angle. Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition has a 20 percent improvement in graphics performance over the original Motorola XOOM for smoother gaming, featuring adaptive virtual surround sound with booming bass that’ll delight your ears and make you stand out from the crowd with one of the fastest multi-tasking in its class.

Size wise, the Xoom 2 Media Edition measures 139 mm x 216 mm x 8.99 mm and weighs 386 grams. Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition comes with 1.3 megapixel front and 5 megapixel rear-facing HD cameras with digital zoom, auto focus, and LED flash. It boasts 1GB RAM and 16GB storage. It's equipped with adaptive virtual surround sound with multiple speakers and booming bass. According to the company, the battery provides enough juice for 6+ hrs Web usage and more than 3 days of music playback.

Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition can even be a universal remote control for home entertainment equipment with the personalized, custom remote control app pre-loaded on the tablet. Lastly, a splash-guard coating provides extra protection against the spills that are bound to happen when you’re having fun.

With the Work and Play kit, you'll be able to plug your tablet into the HD Multimedia Station to connect to your HDTV, speakers and other peripherals for large-screen entertainment.
