AT&T’s 3G Mobile Broadband Network Download Speeds Increase Up to 1.7 Mbps. AT&T announced a more than 20 percent increase to the top end of the company’s typical 3G network downlink speed range and a 50 percent increase to the top end of the typical uplink speed range for wireless laptop card customers(1). The upgrades are results of recent network enhancements, including the deployment of High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) technology across all existing 3G markets before the end of June. HSUPA for Vodacom South Africa. The launch of High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) service has been announced by Vodacom in South Africa. HSUPA is an enhancement of Vodacom’s current HSDPA 3.6 service. South African mobile users will be able to experience download speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 1.4 Mbps, although the average achievable speeds are somewhat lower. AT&T to deploy HSPA 3G Network. AT&T announced that, in the next month, the company will deploy High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) technology in the six remaining markets across AT&T’s entire 3G (third-generation) wireless broadband network. When done, AT&T will have completed its deployment of HSUPA technology, which complements existing HSDPA technology (High Speed Downlink Packet Access), making AT&T the only U.S. carrier to have fully deployed HSPA technology in its 3G network. AT&T to boost 3G speeds to 20Mbps, HSPA release 7 by 2009. We’ve heard 4G LTE Network by AT&T in 2012, Recently AT&T has announced that it plans to roll out its HSPA release 7 network in 2009. The new 3G technology will apparently boost data speeds to 20Mbps - more than 5 times what current AT&T 3G users can expect today. LG Prada with HSDPA for NTT DoCoMo. A full touch screen mobile phone, “PRADA Phone by LG”, was just announced by NTT DoCoMo to be marketed for the Japanese cellphone users. The PRADA concept is faithfully represented in a special leather case, accessories and custom-tailored screen graphics that accompany the handset.
LG Prada features include an intuitive, full-size touch screen with vibration touch to improve usability. This function activates whenever users touch screen icons to make a call, use e-mail, take and view photos or listen to music.
