Qualcomm’s HSPA+ Data Call. Recent News for 4G network, Qualcomm announced that it has completed the world’s first data call using High-Speed Packet Access Plus (HSPA+) network technology. The call achieved a data transfer rate of more than 20 Mbps in a 5 MHz channel. HSPA+ will allow operators to double the data and triple the voice capacity of their networks compared to current HSPA deployments. HTC Touch Diamond approved by the FCC. Following the previous report about Official HTC Touch Diamond Firmware - 850Mhz radio ROM, HTC Touch Diamond has finally been approved by the FCC. Interestingly, the spec is now US-friendly with US 3G HSDPA support, that’s great in the United States.

Ericsson HSPA network upgrade in Japan. Ericsson has just signed an agreement with a leading Japanese operator, Softbank Mobile, to expand and upgrade it’s HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) network. Ericsson will provide e-HSPA (enhanced HSPA) on new and existing base stations in high traffic areas, in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka.

Telstra’s Trial for 4G Mobile Broadband. Telstra’s partnership with Ericsson results finishing a trial of the enhanced High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) technology. T-Mobile HSPA Mobile Broadband in UK. With T-Mobile’s HSUPA mobile broadband service in UK, T-Mobile becomes the first national mobile broadband service that offers HSPA network (HSDPA and HSUPA). T-Mobile has upgraded its HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) network, with a possible maximum speed of 7.2Mbps and HSUPA (High-Speed Uplink Packet Access) to 1.4Mbps upload speeds.

Aside from the HSPA radio, both devices (MD400 Mobile Broadband USB Modem, and MD400g Mobile Broadband GPS USB Modem) also pack microSD and Memory Stick Micro (M2) slots and the latter model (MD400g). Apart from an in-built antenna, an innovative additional swivel antenna optimizes the performance when in use. When closed, it covers and protects the retractable USB connector. AT&T to deploy HSPA 3G Network. AT&T announced that, in the next month, the company will deploy High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) technology in the six remaining markets across AT&T’s entire 3G (third-generation) wireless broadband network. When done, AT&T will have completed its deployment of HSUPA technology, which complements existing HSDPA technology (High Speed Downlink Packet Access), making AT&T the only U.S. carrier to have fully deployed HSPA technology in its 3G network.
