Verizon Wireless has announced that the LG Spectrum is already available in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online for $199.99 with a new two-year customer agreement. You can enjoy Verizon Wireless 4G LTE, a 4.5-inch True HD display and ESPN ScoreCenter application with exclusive HD video all come together in one device.

As you probably already know, the Spectrum by LG runs on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread (upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich). The Android smartphone boasts a Qualcomm 1.5 GHz dual-core CPU combined with 4G LTE connectivity. Mobile Hotspot capability allows user to share 4G LTE connection with up to ten Wi-Fi-enabled devices.

BlackBerry Curve 9370 available on Verizon Wireless

As expected, Verizon BlackBerry Curve 9370 smartphone is already available in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online at www.verizonwireless.com for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. Those not familiar with the RIM's smartphone should know that BlackBerry Curve 9370 comes with the new BlackBerry 7 OS. The phone features a 2.44-inch display, 5MP camera with flash, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, support for near-field communication (NFC), enables many capabilities, including the ability to pair accessories or read SmartPoster tags with a simple tap of the smartphone.

Motorola DROID RAZR in Black available on Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless has announced that the DROID RAZR by Motorola is already available online for $199.99 with a new two-year contract on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Network. The new smartphone is available in Black, while the Motorola DROID RAZR in Purple and White will be available for $199.99 in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online on Jan. 23.

Powered by Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread (upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich), Motorola DROID RAZR comes with a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 16 GB on-board memory, and Verizon Wireless 4G LTE. The Android smartphone is 7.1 mm thin, made with KEVLAR fiber for strength and Corning Gorilla Glass for scratch resistance.

HTC Bootloader Unlock adds Desire Z, ChaCha, Aria, DROID Incredible, Status and T-Mobile G2

HTC has recently added Bootloader Unlock support for the HTC Desire Z, ChaCha, Aria, DROID Incredible, Status, and T-Mobile G2, joining the Desire HD and Wildfire which were previously added. As you may well be aware already, using the official tool you can install custom firmware on the selected HTC Android devices.

NFC Mobile Wallet for BlackBerry Bold 9900 in Turkey

Research In Motion and Turkcell have announced the commercial availability of an NFC mobile wallet application, the Turkcell Cep-T Cüzdan, for BlackBerry Bold 9900 smartphone customers in Turkey. It's the first commercially available NFC-based mobile payments for BlackBerry smartphones via MasterCard PayPass.

As a reminder, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and BlackBerry Curve 9360 smartphones are the world's first SIM-based smartphones to receive MasterCard PayPass handset certification for secure NFC payments.

iBooks 2 for iPad announced by Apple

Apple has recently announced iBooks 2 for iPad, a new version of the iPad application that allows users to enjoy digital versions of textbooks. The service now features iBooks textbooks, an entirely new kind of textbook that’s dynamic, engaging and truly interactive. With support for interesting new features including gorgeous, fullscreen books, interactive 3D objects, diagrams, videos and photos, the iBooks 2 app will let students learn using new interactive textbooks with just a tap or swipe of the finger.

The new iBooks 2 app is available as a free download from the App Store in the Books category.

Firmware update for Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone

Nokia has released a new firmware update for the Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone. The second software update for the Nokia Lumia smartphone will bring the software on your phone to version 1600.2483.8106.11500. It now comes with two enhancements, for battery performance and Wi-Fi connectivity.

According to the official blog, Nokia said that the latest software update will not be delivered to every Lumia 800 simultaneously, but rather will be staggered over the next two weeks through Microsoft’s standard update process. Your Nokia Lumia smartphone will automatically check for updates from time to time, and you’ll get a message on the Windows phone when it is ready.

LG Optimus Pad LTE tablet with True HD IPS display unveiled

LG Electronics has unveiled its first LTE-capable tablet, the LG Optimus Pad LTE. Initially launching in Korea, LG has equipped the tablet with both LTE technology and True HD IPS display, the two features that have helped LG differentiate its latest smartphone, LG Optimus LTE, from the competition. LG Optimus Pad LTE is also the world's first tablet to support an SD memory card expandable to 32GB.

Specs wise, the LG Optimus Pad LTE runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb and is equipped with a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor by Qualcomm. LG Optimus Pad LTE tablet boasts a 1280 x 720 True HD IPS display, 8MP rear camera for shooting high definition video, and 2MP front facing. There's also easy-to-use controls and functions such as the Smart Movie Editor for editing pictures and videos more easily. Moreover, Web Duet allows for e-mailing, messaging and SNS sharing with search functions, and On-Screen Phone (OSP) ensures compatibility with LG smartphones. The tablet also supports High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) and Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA). Size wise, the successor to the original LG Optimus Pad, the Optimus Pad LTE is extremely portable and aesthetically pleasing. It measures 245 x 151.4 x 9.34 mm and has a weight of 497 grams.
