HTC Dream Video in the wild? Following the previous report about HTC Android in Q4 2008 as scheduled, Apparently we’ve recently spotted the live video of HTC’s “Dream” Android phone. The clip is blurry but the Android interface appears to be tweaked a bit from the last time we saw it, with an auto-rotating display and what appears to be a relatively responsive touchscreen. The phone looks good with the keyboard hidden, but when the panel slides out it reveals a Sidekick-esque design that might inspire more than its share of hatred. Video follows after the jump. Android-Symbian Merger just Speculation. Following the previous rumor about Symbian + Android Collaboration? Officials from Symbian, Nokia, and Google all dismissed the prediction — contained most recently in a report released yesterday by mobile analysis firm J. Gold Associates — as pure speculation.
Dismissing it as a “rumor,” a Nokia spokesperson declined to comment on the report. Symbian officials were unavailable but have dismissed such talk in private.
“We don’t comment on market rumors or speculations,” said a Google spokesperson.
“There is no substantive basis to this,” said mobile analyst Carmi Levy, senior VP for strategic consulting at AR Communications. “Nokia was quite adamant last November when it first shrugged off suggestions of a possible merger with Android.”

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Google’s Android hardware won’t arrive until the fourth quarter. Android running on Nokia N95 Videos. From this ‘low-quality’ video we can clearly see the Android-based Google Maps application grabbing positional data and the Android dialer making a voice call. The first video shows the dual-boot setup the guy has setup, allowing him to boot up in to Android or Symbian. The second video shows the Nokia N95 running Google Maps and making a phone call on Android. Yeah we aren’t sure whether this video is showing a real-deal Android installation on Nokia N95 hardware, this is natively installed or not, or if this guy actually has a semi-functional Android device. You may check the videos and judge for yourself. Continue reading ‘Android running on Nokia N95 Videos’
