Microsoft Tag Reader for Google Android allows you to use your phone as a mobile barcode reader. You simply point your phone’s camera at a tag, snap a picture, and the Tag program will interpret it.

Microsoft Tag Reader is also available for the Windows Mobile, J2ME, iPhone, Blackberry and Symbian S60 phones.

Microsoft Tag Reader is now available for download directly from the Android Market on your Android phone by searching for ‘Microsoft Tag’.

Zeemote Acquired By Aplix Corporation

Zeemote Acquired By Aplix CorporationJava technology company Aplix Corporation has announced that it has acquired the assets of Zeemote Inc., in an all cash transaction. Aplix has retained the services of a number of key Zeemote staff including: Jim Adams and Rob Podoloff who will continue with their roles as VP Business Development and CTO respectively. Zeemote will operate as a separate subsidiary of Aplix Corporation and will remain at its Chelmsford, Massachusetts base.

Aplix Corporation embeds its JBlend (Java) platform on to more than 110 million mobile devices each year. Zeemote’s software will be included in the JBlend offering to enable the Zeemote JS1 Controller and other Bluetooth-enabled peripherals to be offered globally.
