O2 offers Home + Mobile Broadband. A joint mobile and fixed broadband deal has been offered by O2 for its customers.
The joint offer is available for customers signing up to O2 Mobile Broadband between 1 August and 31 October 2008 who live within the O2 Home Broadband network – approximately 60 per cent of the UK population. The deal is also available to existing O2 Mobile and Home Broadband customers. Customers wanting to upgrade to a higher speed package or not covered by O2’s broadband network will receive a £7.50 per month discount on their chosen plan for 12 months.

Qualcomm’s HSPA+ Data Call. Recent News for 4G network, Qualcomm announced that it has completed the world’s first data call using High-Speed Packet Access Plus (HSPA+) network technology. The call achieved a data transfer rate of more than 20 Mbps in a 5 MHz channel. HSPA+ will allow operators to double the data and triple the voice capacity of their networks compared to current HSPA deployments. Aircell’s GSM 4G LTE Mobile Broadband. The in-flight GoGo WiFi provider, Aircell, announced its intention to base its fourth generation (4G) mobile broadband network on Long Term Evolution (LTE), the emerging standard for advanced mobile broadband networks and services. Telstra’s Trial for 4G Mobile Broadband. Telstra’s partnership with Ericsson results finishing a trial of the enhanced High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) technology. HSUPA network for O2 Ireland. Good news for mobile broadband users in Ireland on O2 network. O2 Ireland has boosted its service with HSUPA up to 1.4 Mbps and HSDPA (downstream) at 7.2 Mbps. The devices which are HSUPA capable include the USB Modem E270, USB Stick E170 and Express Card E870. O2 customers can subscribe the service online or at stores.

MTS + Microsoft + Fujitsu Siemens for 3G-enabled notebook. Mobile TeleSystems OJSC (”MTS”), Microsoft, and Fujitsu Siemens announced the launch of the first integrated 3G notebook solution in the CIS. T-Mobile HSPA Mobile Broadband in UK. With T-Mobile’s HSUPA mobile broadband service in UK, T-Mobile becomes the first national mobile broadband service that offers HSPA network (HSDPA and HSUPA). T-Mobile has upgraded its HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) network, with a possible maximum speed of 7.2Mbps and HSUPA (High-Speed Uplink Packet Access) to 1.4Mbps upload speeds.
