KDDI + LTE Next Generation Network (as NTT DoCoMo + Softbank)

KDDI + LTE Next Generation Network (as NTT DoCoMo + Softbank)
KDDI + LTE Next Generation Network (as NTT DoCoMo + Softbank). Japanese CDMA operator KDDI has decided that they're going to go with LTE for their next generation network, just like their competitors NTT DoCoMo and Softbank.

KDDI is now using the CDMA2000 telecommunications format for its 3G, or third-generation phone service, as against the W-CDMA that has been adopted by NTT DoCoMo and Softbank Mobile.

The company is now considering adopting a format called LTE, or Long Term Evolution, which will likely become an international standard for the next generation mobile phone service.

The format is expected to deliver speed as fast as that of fiber-optic telecommunications, or throughput of 1 gigabit per second for incoming calls.

Expect the new network to be up and atom sometime in 2010.
