NBA Smash! Basketball Mobile Game by Gameloft announced

You're probably already aware of mobile games by Gameloft which're based on popular brands e.g. Wimbledon, Ferrari, CSI, Derek Jeter, Hulk Hogan, Now, they've announced an agreement with the National Basketball Association (NBA) to develop and publish two NBA games for mobile phones.

NBA Smash! is the first basketball mobile game. This is an arcade-style 2-on-2 street basketball game that is scheduled to be available this month. Slam dunks and skillful dribbling are included to help players put together combinations to better their score. An advanced career mode allows players to create their own players, form and upgrade their teams, and face off against all the NBA teams.

The second game which the official name is still unknown is a 5-on-5 simulation-style game, featuring all 30 teams and every NBA player, as well as the full 80 game season and events from NBA All-Star. A management feature within that game will let players manage their team rosters and select strategies to beat rivals. It is slated for a market debut in September, just prior to the 2008-09 NBA season.

Look for NBA Smash! this May. Both games will be available across all major carrier decks.
