3G iPhone will be 22% thinner + GPS? A new rumor for the next-generation iPhone, Leander Kahney got a hot tip from a programmer at a major software publisher who claims to have seen the specs for the iPhone 2. The 3G iPhone is speculated to be 22% less thick than the iPhone 1. Not only is it said to sport integrated GPS, but also to have better battery time than the current-gen iPhone, and a whopping 16GB or 32GB of storage.

From the previous rumors, we already heard before about GPS, 3G, and battery were ever mentioned; 3G iPhone confirmed to sport GPS?, iPhone 2.0 beta 5 Firmware includes 3G Data Settings Option?. It's not clear if the new 3G iPhone can achieve longer battery life with the 3G radio enabled or if the longer uptime can only be attained with the 3G radio disabled. Remember, Steve Jobs ever said that 3G was not an option for the first iPhone because of battery life concerns.

It's also said that Apple will be giving carriers the opportunity to sell the next-generation iPhone at a discounted price point is rooted in UBS Investment Research's claims that the 3G iPhone could sell for around $200 in the UK.
