ZTE U990 WinMo handset. Chinese manufacturer ZTE announced their first Windows Mobile handset, the U990. It's the world's first HSDPA/TD-SCDMA handset. The mobile phone by ZTE comes with a dual mode that supports both HSDPA and TD-SCDMA (3G network for China). The new U990 has a high-speed transmission rate of up to 2.8 Mbps, the fastest transmission speed amoung the TD-SCDMA terminals available in the industry, offering consumers the best possible mobile experience.

The new model supports dual mode TD-SCDMA/EDGE allowing seamless transitions between the two networks. Its HSDPA speed is capable of reaching 2.8Mbps for downlink transmission and 384kbps for uplink transmission, ensuring high-speed HSDPA service under TD-SCDMA network infrastructure in China. ZTE U990 runs on Windows Mobile 6.0 operating system and is the first ZTE handset integrated with a Microsoft OS. It features 3G, equipped with both GPS/AGPS navigation technologies.
