Samsung developing WiMAX, LTE chips
Samsung developing WiMAX, LTE chips. We've previously heard some reports about WiMAX & Long-Term-Evolution (LTE) such as RIM working on LTE BlackBerry handset?, LTE cellphone chips with 60Mbps speeds tested by LG, and also the WiMAX-handset by HTC, then What's Now?, Not to be left behind, Samsung Electronics is working on basebands for both Long Term Evolution (LTE) and mobile WiMax networks as well as media accelerators.
Samsung is already sampling its mobile WiMax chip set to engineers in and outside the company. The Korean giant wants to be among the first to launch LTE handsets, but it is not yet clear whether it will use its own LTE baseband in its first models.
