KDDI unveiled solar-powered waterproof phone

Not to be left behind by Samsung's Blue Earth, In cooperation with Sharp, KDDI au in Japan will offer an eco-friendly mobile phone that will be waterproof and powered by solar energy.

Interestingly, with only 10 minutes of a solar charge in the sun, The handset is able to provide one minute of talk time and 120 minutes of standby.

The solar-powered waterproof phone will also come with a conventional battery that can be charged up to 80% via solar power. It will be sold in Japan from June.
