iPhone Firmware OS 3.0.1 released by Apple to patch SMS text bug

Apple has released new firmware update, iPhone OS version 3.0.1 with a patch for SMS vulnerabilities which affect several mobile phone platforms. The bug, exposed at the recent Black Hat security conference, allowed maliciously-crafted text messages to remotely disable or control an iPhone.

You can download the iPhone OS 3.0.1 update in iTunes via the "Check for Update" button. As usual, it is suggested that you backup all your data before upgrading.
