Samsung and Verizon have announced a new rugged clamshell phone, the new Samsung Convoy. The mobile phone comes with high-speed 3G data and push-to-talk functionality, a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, GPS (VZ Navigator), 1300mAh battery, MIL-SPEC 810F standard for ruggedness in all temperatures, altitudes and various solar radiation levels.
In addition, the Convoy can also withstand shock, dust, vibration, salt fog and humidity. Starting from Nov 15th, it's available for $49.99 with a 2 year contract, and after a $50 mail-in rebate. If you want to enable push-to-talk, there's an additional $5 a month for the service.
