Apple Patent Application for Solar powered iPhone

The USPTO has published a new patent application from Apple. The patent application entitled "Power Management Circuitry and Solar Cells", describes a power management system that would allow the iPod and iPhone to operate primarily on solar power.

Apple has revealed an interest in solar technology in the past. Back in 2008, Apple filed for a patent that would put a solar panel behind the LCD display of the iPhone.
