Cellular South completes Acquisition of Corr Wireless Communications
Cellular South has announced that it has completed its acquisition of Alabama-based Corr Wireless Communications. With this strategic purchase, Cellular South will now be able to offer the industry's best devices, plans and network to customers in northeastern Alabama and parts of Georgia.

For now, Corr Wireless will continue to offer wireless products and services under its existing name. Over time, Corr customers should expect the introduction of more advanced devices, robust plans and improved network quality as well as an increased focus on helping them get the most out of their wireless experience.

Cellular South, which celebrates 22 years of operation this week, continues to discover new ways to position itself for healthy growth so it can compete in an ever-evolving wireless industry. Along with its purchase of 700 Megahertz (MHz) spectrum in the 2008 FCC auction, the acquisition of Corr Wireless will help accelerate Cellular South's expansion into Alabama to build a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, the next generation of high-speed wireless technology that will support interactive television, mobile video blogging, advanced games and other wireless applications and services.

Corr Wireless Communications is a leading regional wireless carrier operating primarily in northeastern Alabama and parts of Georgia. The company's service area covers a population of more than 1.3 million in 18 counties, including the cities of Huntsville, Madison, Decatur, and Gadsden and the counties of Blount, Cullman, Marshall, Dekalb and Jackson in Alabama, as well as Rome, Georgia. Corr provides both retail and wholesale wireless services and employs approximately 130 employees, many of whom work in 19 company-owned stores.
