GeoVector World Surfer 2 for iPhone adds augmented reality
GeoVector has announced the availability of GeoVector World Surfer 2.0 for the iPhone. World Surfer 2 provides ease of use feature enhancements to GeoVector’s popular directional search and pointing application. Developed for compass-enabled GPS smartphones, World Surfer allows users to point their phones in a particular direction to search for retailers, restaurants and other points of interest.

Released initially for the iPhone platform, World Surfer 2 incorporates time saving, convenience features such as free text search and the ability to save favorite searches. GeoVector has also added camera view augmented reality to World Surfer 2 as a guidance enhancement to help users verify the distance, location and direction of their destinations.

GeoVector has been providing directionally filtered location browsers for mobile devices since 2006 and is dedicated to providing practical, useful augmented reality applications to consumers. World Surfer users can quickly find retail spots, historical points of interest, clean restrooms, etc. and can bookmark their hotels or parking spots to return easily after a day’s exploring. Augmented reality industry leader Gene Becker has called GeoVector’s World Surfer, the application that “most effectively handles local searches and provides the best walking directions.”

GeoVector World Surfer is currently available for download from the Apple iTunes App Store for customers with the iPhones, and Android Market for Android handsets.
