SAN MATEO, CALIF., August 18, 2010 — SugarSync Inc., makers of the award-winning SugarSync file sync, backup and sharing service, today announced SugarSync for Symbian—the first all-in-one sync, backup and sharing service for Symbian OS users. This new, free app will bring Symbian enthusiasts the same power of the cloud enjoyed by other mobile OS users to easily access, manage, and share all their personal content at anytime, from anywhere.

SugarSync for Symbian features the ability to remotely access, open and easily share files via your mobile phone, including documents, photos and more stored in a SugarSync account. Plus, with an appropriate document editor, files can be edited and synced back.

“Our goal at SugarSync is to provide every consumer instant access to all their files—be it documents, photos, music, video or other valued content—regardless of their operating system or handset preference,” said Laura Yecies, CEO of SugarSync. “No other cloud company offers such a broad range of mobile applications for consumers. We're working hard and fast to build an all-inclusive ecosystem to ensure our customers can choose to work from virtually any location, on any device.”

According to research and advisory firm Vision Mobile's new Mobile Developer Economics 2010 survey, Symbian is deployed across roughly 390 million handsets worldwide, including Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Fujitsu and Motorola phones.

The free SugarSync for Symbian app can be downloaded using your phone at www.sugarsync.com/symbian. In addition to this news, SugarSync has also unveiled a simplified web user interface that makes it easier than ever to access, manage, share and sync files. The new design of the “My SugarSync” website allows for quick access to a plethora of functional and fun features, including: the ability to share a folder; send a file; create a public link; upload and view pictures, as well as to stream music files from SugarSync.

Also today, SugarSync announced a “double bonus” referral program offering between 500 MB to 10 GB of additional storage every time a user refers a friend. That's twice the normal referral bonus and far more reward than any other service. Terms and conditions apply; the offer is time limited.

SugarSync supports virtually all computer and smartphone operating systems, including Windows and Mac, plus boasts native apps for iPad, iPhone, Android, Blackberry, WinMo and now Symbian.
