Novatel Wireless has announced that the MiFi 2372 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot is being offered by KDDI in Japan as a rental service for Japanese consumers and business travelers who want to stay connected when traveling overseas. The service offers wireless rental data plans without long-term contracts for business and leisure travelers with international carriers in 23 countries.

The Novatel Wireless MiFi 2372 represents the industry's first Intelligent Mobile Hotspot, a new category of mobile broadband that lets users put their world of content, services and connectivity in the palm of their hand. The MiFi platform creates a personal cloud of high-speed Internet connectivity that can be easily shared between multiple users and up to five Wi-Fi devices such as laptops, cameras, gaming devices, tablets and multimedia players. The MiFi 2372 platform supports 800/850MHz, 1900MHz and 2100MHz bands for global roaming services.

Compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems, the MiFi 2372 delivers download speeds up to 7.2 megabits per second with enhanced performance for simultaneous uploads/downloads and large file transfers. Compact and simple to use, the MiFi 2372 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot from Novatel Wireless includes a microSD slot for expandable memory of up to 32 gigabytes.
