China Mobile testing TD-LTE in 7 cities

China Mobile has begun testing of 4G technology TD-LTE in 7 cities, which is expected to be in commercial use by 2012. The seven cities are Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen and Beijing. According to the report, the test network which consists of more than 1,000 base stations will be completed this year. It is also said that the company plans to launch LTE data cards in H2 2011. The 4G data cards promises download speeds of around 100 Mbps.
