Samsung has announced the Galaxy S II LTE and Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE. Both devices will come with updated dual core 1.5 GHz processor.

Galaxy S II LTE is an update to the Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone. It's not just the Galaxy S 2 with the addition of an LTE radio. Some of the smartphone's hardwares have also been upgraded. Now the LTE version comes with a larger 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, up from 4.3-inch on the non-LTE SGS2. The CPU is now faster, upgraded from 1.2 GHz dual core to 1.5 GHz dual core processors. The battery is now 1850 mAh compared to the 1650 mAh in standard version. SGS2 LTE has also NFC chip. Additionally, the GALAXY S II LTE can also be connected to up to 8 devices via WiFi, meaning that files can be quickly and seamlessly synchronized with laptops, tablets and other smartphones.

Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE is an update to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. Like the SGS2 LTE, it has been upgraded as well. Measuring just 8.6mm thin while weighing only 455g, the LTE tablet from Samsung will be powered with Android Honeycomb 3.2 OS, 1.5 GHz dual core processors, same 8.9-inch screen, and more.

Those not familiar with the LTE should know that when connected to a 4G network, LTE technology allows portable devices to download high-quality files at speeds of up to 100Mbps, and to upload at speeds of 50Mbps theoretically – 5 times faster than even the quickest HSPA+ connection. This means that a four-minute long MP3 track can be downloaded in 0.3 seconds, or an entire film file in less than two minutes.
