Certified interoperability between service provider networks extends Ethernet service offerings to previously unreachable business locations

Telco Systems, the leading provider of innovative SDN & NFV and multi-service Carrier Ethernet 2.0 and MPLS edge solutions, announced today that two of its next-generation 10GE devices, T-Metro 8001 and T-Marc 3348, have achieved MEF CE 2.0 certification. The new certifications expand the company's CE 2.0-certified portfolio that already includes T-Metro 7124S, T-Marc 3312SC and T-Marc 340. Telco Systems now offers the broadest portfolio of end-to-end, CE 2.0-certified solutions.

MEF certification streamlines Carrier Ethernet service interoperability among service providers. Additionally, the program helps ensure end-to-end quality of service, accelerates deployment times for new services and simplifies interconnection between carrier networks.

CE 2.0 is the MEF's designation for its second generation of service standards and promotes new services (E-Tree, E-Access) and interfaces (ENNI) in addition to significant enhancements to previously defined services (E-Line, E-LAN).

The first of the newly certified devices, T-Metro 8001, is a 10GE high-density service aggregation device that provides Carrier Ethernet over both MPLS and Ethernet transport technologies with no need for additional licensing fees, and is integrated with massive service scalability and carrier-class resiliency. It allows carriers to offer cloud-based, business Ethernet and mobile backhaul services to the network edge. T-Metro 8001 is designed for service providers who need the reliability of the traditional SONET/SDH quality of service and the flexibility to deliver multiple services at 1GE/10GE port rates in a metro Ethernet environment.

The second, the T-Marc 3348 1GE/10GE Ethernet/MPLS demarcation device group (T-Marc 3348S, T-Marc 3348SH and T-Marc 3348WD), offers an all-in-one solution suitable for a range of applications, that provides access to advanced data services such as virtual private wire services (VPWS), virtual private LAN services (VPLS) and hierarchical virtual private LAN services (HVPLS), simplifying the network and making it easier to manage, while gaining the added value that MPLS provides.

"Telco Systems is committed to accelerating the adoption of Carrier Ethernet 2.0," said Moshe Shimon, Vice President of Product Management and Marketing. "With the certifications for the T-Metro 8001 and T-Marc 3348, these devices can now provide solutions in the many service provider networks where Carrier Ethernet 2.0 compliance is a requirement."

Telco Systems will be demonstrating its advanced CE 2.0 and SDN/NFV portfolio at the SDN & OpenFlow World Congress, Dusseldorf, on October 13th in Booth #37, and in GEN15, Dallas, TX, on November 16th in Booth #312.
